Remote data access

Problem

  • How to get remote access to current production data from anywhere?...

  • ...without expanding IT infrastructure, interfering with machines or performing additional administrative activities related to reporting?

Solution

  • FitMech provides access to managerial production data thanks to vibration sensors sticked to machines - vibrations generated during machine operation are identified, interpreted and visualized online.

  • All of that live, in real time, with access via WWW and mobile applications - automatically, in a private cloud and without additional IT infrastructure!

"For the inquisitive"

Situation

Our client, a company from the CNC industry, specializes in metal processing. The factory is located in several buildings located far apart from each other. The management occupies a separate office building.

Every time the management needed to obtain information on the execution of production processes, they had to wait for the end of the current shift and the submission of reports, or to move between buildings, and put on safety clothing before entering the halls.

Also, this form and method of access to data made remote work difficult and less effective.

Target

In order to increase the efficiency of managing the production process, it was necessary to reduce the effort and time that must be spent on obtaining information about the current state of the machines.

Increasing the amount of administrative work was not an option - it was necessary to automate the reporting process and ensure that the data was collected in one place and available remotely, preferably over the Internet.

IT was the limitation - they did not have the means to integrate the infrastructure and software with which to achieve these goals.

Solution

The management decided to use the FitMech service. Vibration sensors stuck to the machines started monitoring the current state of the machines as soon as they were connected to the company's WiFi network and configured. Data from the sensors are then analyzed in a private computing cloud and presented online in the form of graphs and summaries.

Now, if the management wants to check on the machines' condition, they no longer need to put on health and safety clothing and move to the production hall in the building next door, or wait for reports from the previous shift - they just log in to the FitMech website or open the mobile application. Data is available at any time and from anywhere: from the office, from home, or when on a business trip.
